Christopher Newport University invites undergraduate and graduate students to submit abstracts for
our 1st annual research conference, dedicated to fostering undergraduate and graduate research
in the
liberal arts, sciences, and professional studies.
Paideia (pi day a)- the classical Greek education of liberal learning, which was believed
to develop the intellectual, moral and aesthetic capacities.
Abstracts are due on or before February 15, 2002, and all submissions must be approved by a
faculty
sponsor. The conference takes place April 5-6, 2002 at Christopher Newport University.
This conference
will be conducted in association with the Virginia Humanities Conference, but is
not limited to topics in
the humanities.
Students not making presentations are also encouraged to attend.
